The Perfect White Paint Color
The perfect white paint color and contrasting trim we used in our home.
The perfect white paint color

Looking for the perfect white paint color can be extremely overwhelming and discouraging when inevitably you think you’ve landed on the right one only to find that it looks too cold, too warm, to grey or like your doctors office when you finally get around to painting it on your walls!
When we were on the hunt for the perfect white paint color during our home renovation I feel like I sampled every white paint that ever existed on our walls. I ended up finding the perfect creamy warm, but not too warm white and since its our most asked question on Instagram I thought I would share it here on the blog.
The color we ended up using is Simply White by Benjamin Moore. This white paint looks beautiful in all the rooms in our home even the north facing ones which can skew white paint to look dingy or as with one shade we tried, green!
We did get our ceiling painted as well which I really think makes all the difference and after having a huge oops with our original pick for trim I would recommend a neutral tan like Natural Tan by Sherwin Williams which we used, or painting the trim the same color Simply White but in a different sheen.
So for example if your walls are done in eggshell your trim could be satin, which is what we did and that would still give you a subtle contrast from your trim to walls, however I personally like having my trim and walls a different color from each other, and natural tan is the perfect shade of tan that doesn’t run too purple or pink, which can be an issue.
